Episode 1: Welcome to Wonderland, Son!

It's all just flavors and textures and love and energies just

driftin' through." - Aztrojunkie

At last, we have launched our very first podcast last week with the title, "Welcome to Wonderland, Son!" featuring some of the best online sources and most educated people in the world of psychedelics.

The discussion revolved around some of the basic things to prepare before taking a trip, and some tips on how to go about your day exploring the universe.

And though our main goal is to spread good vibes, lots of love, and having fun throughout the process, we still want to tap on some related topics that many people tend to avoid such as depression and suicide as we discuss the ways we've found healing through psychedelics.

To give you an overview of what this episode is all about, here are some of the highlights:

Major Things To Prepare Before A Trip

Our ultimate tip for our first-timer friends is to plan ahead. Clear your schedule for the next 24 to 48 hours, depending on the amount that you will take.

We also suggested to take a low dose first — around 70 - 150ug (micrograms), navigate from there, and always leave some room for recovery since you will have a hard time sleeping after the trip.

Here are few things to include in your planning stage:

1.) Prepare your mind

Being of sound mind is very important in taking psychedelics, especially if it's your first time. There is no guarantee that you will have a pleasant ride since a lot of unexpected things can still happen even with enough preparation, but you can always minimize potential risks by gauging yourself before diving into the experience. Having an open and stable mind can eliminate tendencies of having panic attacks when you encounter potential triggers, especially if you are going through a dark chapter in your life.

"You don’t necessarily have to be super happy or super positive on that day. It’s just not entirely possible. But taking psychedelics could help you change perspective on your current situation. There have been studies in using psychedelics to treat depression."

Just to be clear, using LSD as a cure for depression is still under careful study and is being performed by highly trained / educated professionals in an extremely controlled environment. If you are dealing with mental illness and you really want to try psychedelics, please please please read the research papers first, seek advice from a professional, and DO NOT self-medicate.

2.) Choose the right people to trip with

If this is your first time to take a trip with Lucy, we highly recommend that you should be with someone who is really experienced in case something unexpected happens.

Your trip will be better, and you'll feel more comfortable and at ease if you do it with the people you completely trust. You will also find it more satisfying if you surround yourself with interesting people that you love and genuinely love you back no matter what.

"If you are a couple and you are both very sure about each other. We would highly recommend Lucy. Let her take you there. Let her take your relationship to another level." - Aztrojunkie

I really think this is one of the most intimate thing that you can do with someone as you will be at your most vulnerable state.

Having your mind exposed like someone cut your head open, easy for other people to see what's inside and easy for you to absorb anything and everything that crosses it, can leave you feeling way more vulnerable than just being naked.

This is why it's so important to always choose the people you're going to trip with wisely, as it can make or break your entire experience. Especially if it's your first time.

3.) Set your intentions

Whenever we start something, could be work related, beauty regimen, art project, health routine, etc., we normally set a goal.

It can be as simple as just entertaining yourself, to as complex as target number of sales on x number of months.

Let's face it, we all need some sense of direction in everything we do.

Same goes with taking psychedelics. If you are going through something, like moving on from a previous relationship, or feel like you're stuck in a rut and want to gain a whole new set of ideas, Lucy can take you there, provided you really set intentions. Contemplate on each intention while you are tripping.

"What Lucy does to you is that it helps you see the world with fresh eyes. It changes your perspective on a lot of things." - Aztrojunkie

A lot of people fall for that YOLO mentality to the point of being reckless. Humans are naturally terrible in managing happiness units and our self sabotaging nature tend to live in excess especially if we have the means. This is partly why drugs, (even the ones with positive effects like Lucy) are either illegal or being regulated by the government.

This is why we have to set intentions before taking a trip in order so you get the most out of the experience, regardless if it's good or bad.

4.) Choose the right place

Set and setting is very important when tripping. According to Wikipedia, "Set and setting describes the context for psychoactive and particularly psychedelic drug experiences: one's mindset (shortened to "set") and the physical and social environment (the setting) in which the user has the experience.

This is especially relevant for psychedelic experiences in either a therapeutic or recreational context."

Choose a place where it's safe, and you won’t encounter any unnecessary interactions. Prepare a nice warm space to crash — with toilet of course, and some food and drinks for your convenience. I suggest you go somewhere close to the beach or any safe nature setting with not a lot of sober people around to distract you.

"Everything is going to be heightened. You will even experience synaesthesia for those lucky enough. I’ve never experienced that until the trip. And even until now it still lingers, like when I listen to a really good music like Chrome Sparks, like man, I can taste the fucking music." - Aztrojunkie

I would totally invest on some good quality healthy food. Also, don’t forget to set aside lots of water and a little bit of money with you just in case.

Personally, a clean and cozy room is all I need to just sink in to the experience.

Things You Can Enjoy During The Trip

1.) Music Playlist

I still think that music is one of the best things that you can enjoy during a trip. Every time I play a new song, I noticed that my thoughts and feelings change accordingly.

Listening to music takes me to places or even eras that my mind can pull up to associate with. And since I'm the type of person who mentally separates / identifies each element of a song (i.e. guitar + delay, synth on arpeg + reverb, vocals + chorus + flanger) on a regular basis, I tend to better recognize and appreciate the process of creating music as well as experiencing a completely different life whenever I'm on LSD.

Here's a sample playlist that you can enjoy while taking that trip with notre chérie Lucy.

I would suggest you download your playlist beforehand to avoid getting interrupted, in case get into some internet connection problems.

2.) Selection of Movies

You can start off with a great material to watch. I prefer comedy or sci-fi as long as it's not too heavy or on the grim side.

You can even throw in something educational. But you can definitely choose whatever you want to watch and it doesn't really matter if you have seen it already, you will totally have a whole new perspective on it as you dive in to the experience. AND if you didn’t understand a certain movie before you can totally re-watch it, trust me you’ll get it this time.

Here are a few examples of movies that we have seen while tripping:

Comedy:

- Blades of Glory

- Ace Ventura

- The Other Guys

- Dazed and Confused

Sci-fi:

- Back to the Future

- Never Ending Story

- Dr. Strange

- The Matrix

Educational:

- The Blue Planet

- Cosmos: A Space Time Odyssey

- Abstract: The Art of Design

3.) Podcasts

I personally like to listen to podcasts that discuss this topic as well especially if they are inviting or even just quoting some of the most educated people in this realm like the Mckenna brothers (Terence and Dennis). I have listened to The Joe Rogan Experience (just type in Psychedelics on the search box and listen to his amazing interviews with scientist and extremely knowledgeable people in this matter), Psychedelic Salon hosted by Lorenzo Hagerty often discuss Terence Mckenna lectures.

There you have it, these are just some beginner trippers guide on how to go about your day of exploring the universe with psychedelics the safe way. It's always best to be educated before you dabble into mind-altering drugs.

There's more of our detailed and even out-of-this-world experiences on the podcast. We'll be sharing more related topics as we go along.
